At DirecTV, I worked as a the sole UI Developer in the Engineering Department which was developing widgets for the Set Top Box. This was a unique experience in that I was creatingh content to be viewed on TV via your remote control. The HTML engine was comporable to HTML 4, but had its own unique features, which I had to learn. A parallel project had to do with the Web interface for 'Preferences' for your TV viewing. Like widgets on your computer dashboard, we allowed users to add convenient widgets they could use everyday. I also built a GUI for the Internal Admin to use while White box testing our projects. Technologies used were XTML 1.0 and CSS2 and CSS3, jQuery for dialog boxes, tooltips and form validation.
